Insights and ideas move the world and are one of our favorite topics, because we live by it. But do you know the difference between these two concepts? Generally, the two are used synonymously, but there are some singularities that define each concept in its proper place. Understanding the difference between insights and ideas helps in the way we see and experience the creation process. Is there a formula to generate that solution capable of transforming a brand? We explain the entire process of solidifying an idea in this article! WHAT IS INSIGHT? Insight is a common word in the vocabulary of those who work with creation, be it content, products or pieces of art.


“Wow, I had an insight, a great BACKGROUND phone database is one of the phrases we often hear in creative environments or during brainstorming. These famous insights help us build ideas, however, they are not the idea itself. It's the first step to getting there. We can exemplify it as an intuition. When looking for a solution to a problem, we explore different perspectives, seeking other opinions. Gathering information together with the analysis of what was collected creates solution possibilities. These possibilities are insights. According to renowned creative author specializing in advertising, Dave Trott, it is something previously unknown that can change how people think about an issue. It's that snap, a light, a sudden clarity in the mind. In other words, they are triggers that point us to possible directions in which we can follow. There can be insights without an idea being drawn from them, but there cannot be a great idea without insights.



HOW TO TURN AN INSIGHT INTO AN IDEA? Remember the story about Archimedes, the one who came out shouting “Eureka”?! He knew that to find the volume of gold in King Hieron's crown, he would need to determine the density of the gold without melting the crown. In what way he still didn't know. Upon entering a bathtub, he observed that the water level rose when he entered, concluding that to measure the volume of the crown, simply immerse it in water and calculate the volume of water displaced. The breakthrough to a difficult problem like Archimedes' is insight. When he identifies that there is a problem, it is the illumination of insight arriving. But the idea arises when he acts, creating the method for calculating the volume of a body. Putting this into practice in our reality, what the creative does based on an insight, based on a discovery, ACTION, is the idea. But before solidification, to have a GOOD and BIG IDEA, you need to listen and absorb divergent thoughts.
